Seneca Buttercup Squash

(C. maxima) Finally, a buttercup variety we can really get behind!  Seneca Buttercup Squash is an almost forgotten heirloom released in the 1940s as an improvement on the industry standard, Burgess.  Seneca is more vigorous, with on average larger fruits than it’s predecessor.  It’s also very sweet, with a silky smooth texture.  Thanks to Heron Breen, seed grower/breeder in Maine for bringing this one back from the brink from seeds he obtained from a seed bank.  We’re so glad to offer this squash to round out our squash collection!

Approx. 15 seeds per packet.

Customer Testimonials

“As soon as I saw my seeds, I had a feeling that they came from plants that had been grown with care – I was further convinced by the 100% germination rate and the fact that … the corn and beans we grew from those seeds thrived and produced a lovely crop! Thank you so much for providing such great seeds; and service, too!”
