Grow your own garlic with our farm grown seed garlic! Garlic can store all winter, or be dried into homemade garlic powder (so potent and delicious) or even pickled. We offer two types of hardneck garlic: “porcelain” varieties have the largest cloves and will keep until late winter, while “rocambole” varieties have more potent flavour and will keep until springtime. Both hardneck varieties will send up “scapes” (akin to the garlic plant’s flower stalk) shortly after summer solstice for us – these should be removed to enjoy in the kitchen. One of our softneck varieties, Afghan White, will also make scapes, while Harmony is a type of softneck garlic that will not make scapes. Softneck varieties are best for making garlic braids, and Harmony can store the longest of any of our varieties.
