(Physalis pruninosa) AKA Ground Cherry. A native American annual fruit, with a delightfully sweet pineapple flavour! Small fruits are encased in a papery husk, turning golden and falling from the sprawling 2-3 ft tall plants when ripe. Kids love finding and opening these sweet garden fruits.
