Whether green beans for summer snacking or homegrown plant-based protein, beans and soybeans are staple crops for a homestead garden. Varieties grown for eating at the immature pod stage are listed under “snap beans”, while varieties grown for harvesting at full seed maturity are listed under “dry beans”. Most of our varieties have a bush type of growth habit the varieties that grow long twining vines are listed under “pole beans”. Soybeans are a different species than most other beans, so they are listed separately, too.
