Wentzell Tomato (extra early pink brandywine)

A super early beefsteak ripening as early as cherry tomatoes!?! A truly remarkable South Shore, Nova Scotia heirloom – locally, people come to us seeking the seeds for this fabulous tomato. Presumably a strain of the ever popular Pink Brandywine, the Wentzell family (who were settlers of what is now Windhorse Farm in Lunenburg County) saved seeds from the earliest ripening fruits for half a century. The result an impressively short season beefsteak adapted to northern climates. Dense, meaty and awesome for sandwiches. Potato-leaf indeterminate.

Approx. 20 seeds per regular packet.

“As soon as I saw my seeds, I had a feeling that they came from plants that had been grown with care – I was further convinced by the 100% germination rate and the fact that … the corn and beans we grew from those seeds thrived and produced a lovely crop! Thank you so much for providing such great seeds; and service, too!”
