(Physalis ixocarpa) AKA Mexican husk tomato. Easy to grow and to use in the kitchen. Traditionally used for making salsa verde. We love baked enchiladas drenched in salsa verde in the winter! In 2020 we made an amazing lacto-ferment with tomatillos, green Aji Crystal Hot Peppers and Cilantro. Plants grow 4 feet high, produce prolifically, and fruits are ready to pick when they fill their husks.
