Payment & Shipping Information

PAYMENT OPTIONS

  • E-Transfer/Cheque: Follow instructions after placing order. Please note that we change the order status manually after payment is received (so won’t happen instantaneously). Email us with any questions/issues.
  • Credit/Debit Card: Secure credit/debit card processing at checkout through Stripe. Please note that your card information is never saved.
  • Cash on Farm Pickup: Available at the farm/events only. Please note that you must prepay at checkout for local pickup of seed orders at Fancy Pants Café in Bridgewater.

SHIPPING OPTIONS

PLEASE READ:

We currently ship via Canada Post.  Delivery can take 2 weeks or more depending on your location & Canada Post service.  You will receive an email notification when your order is completed & shipped; please check your spam folder if the confirmation email does not appear in your inbox (or spell check the email address you provided with your order).  For our Regular Shipping, we ship via Lettermail which does not have tracking available.  Choose Expedited Shipping if you wish to have a tracking number.

We aim to minimize our use of plastic packaging and keep shipping costs low for our customers.  Our seed packets are paper and we ship in paper envelopes; if your mail regularly gets wet let us know and we’ll enclose seeds in plastic.

We package as carefully as we can, but cannot guarantee delivery in good condition, as once we ship orders they are out of our control.  Choose the Expedited Shipping option with tracking & insurance for better Canada Post accountability (although we rarely hear of any problems).

SEEDS:

Seed orders received December through February will be filled and shipped/ready, in the order they are received, starting in February.

March through December, seed orders are filled and shipped/ready to pick up weekly.  We fill and ship orders on Mondays or Tuesdays – please keep in mind that if you place your order late on Sunday or on Monday it may not make that week’s order fulfillment.

  • Local pickup: free of charge when pick up is arranged on-farm/at farmer’s markets/events (cash or prepaid) or at Fancy Pants Café in Bridgewater (prepaid seed orders only, make a note at checkout).
  • Shipping via Canada Post
    • Canadian shipping/handling flat rates:
      • Regular no tracking: $6
      • Expedited with tracking: $30

International shipping: available to some countries depending on border regulations by custom order, please research your country’s regulations and email us to arrange.

DORMANT LIVE PLANTS:

Asparagus Crowns, Sunchokes, Seed Potato, and Rooted Cuttings orders are filled & shipped/ready to pick up when the ground has thawed in the spring and the risk of a hard freeze in transit is very low, usually in April/May.  If you have a preference for later shipment, please specify at checkout.

Willow Whips & Dogwood Cuttings are shipped in April only.

**a note on combined orders (live plants & seeds) ordered before April: unless you specify a preference to us, we will choose to hold seeds to ship along with live plants OR ship seeds separately based on our own timing for seeding (i.e. seeds that we direct sow in May will ship with live plants vs. seeds that we start early indoors will ship separately earlier)

  • Local pickup: free of charge when pick up is arranged on-farm/at farmer’s markets/events (live plants are not available for pickup at Fancy Pants Café)
  • Canadian shipping/handling flat rate: $30

MERCHANDISE:

Orders are shipped/ready to pick up within one week, March through mid December (December through February orders will be held and shipped in February along with seed orders, thanks for your patience!). Occassionally, merchanidise is on back order – you will be notified if that is the case.

SEED GARLIC:

Garlic orders are filled and shipped/ready to pick up within one week, September through November.  We start taking pre-orders in August after harvest is in, sorted & inventoried (August orders are ready/shipped in September).

  • Local pickup: free of charge when pick up is arranged on-farm/at farmer’s markets/events (not available for pickup at Fancy Pants Café)
  • Canadian shipping/handling flat rate: $30
  • Canadian expedited with tracking: $50
  • No shipping of seed garlic out of Canada, sorry!

Gift certificates are emailed within a week of ordering year-round
